Terms of Service

These terms govern the use of the Hepcat mobile app ("the App"), provided by Alessandro Di Già ("we"). By creating an account you confirm that you have read and accepted them.

I. The service

Hepcat is a free app for the swing dance community: it lets you discover festivals and events, keep a diary of your attendance, connect with other dancers, post announcements and organise group trips with shared chat and expenses. The service is provided "as is", with no subscriptions or in-app purchases.

II. Account and minimum age

You must be at least 14 years old to use the App, and you must provide truthful information. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for any activity performed with your account.

III. Rules of conduct

When publishing content (messages, photos, announcements, profile) you agree not to:

• harass, threaten, defame or discriminate against other users;
• publish unlawful, obscene or violent content, or content infringing others' rights (including copyright and image rights);
• use the App for spam, scams or unauthorised commercial activity;
• impersonate other people or create fake accounts;
• attempt to compromise the App's security or access other users' data.

Any content can be reported by users, and any user can be blocked. We reserve the right to remove content and to suspend or delete accounts that violate these rules, at our reasonable discretion.

IV. Your content

Content you publish remains yours. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, limited licence to host, reproduce and display it to other users solely to provide the service. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except as described in the Privacy Policy for group messages already sent.

V. Announcements and agreements between users

The announcements board (passes, car rides, beds, competition partners) and its bookings exist only to put users in touch. Hepcat is not a party to any resulting agreement, does not verify announcements, does not handle payments and gives no guarantee as to their truthfulness, quality or outcome. Trips, exchanges and stays happen under the sole responsibility of the users involved.

VI. Event data

Festival and event information partly comes from public third-party sources and is provided for information only: dates, prices and programmes may change. Always check the event's official website before booking.

VII. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from: user-generated content, agreements concluded between users, inaccuracy of event data, interruptions or malfunctions of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

VIII. Account closure

You can delete your account at any time from the App (Profile → menu → Delete account). We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms; where possible, we will notify you with the reason.

IX. Changes to the service and the terms

We may change the App and these terms. Material changes will be communicated through the App with reasonable notice; continued use of the service constitutes acceptance.

X. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Italian law. For disputes with consumers, the competent court is that of the consumer's place of residence or domicile; in all other cases, the courts of Rome, Italy.
